When you go on a trip the first thing you want to do before you leave is to make up a check list of the things you will need, you will then take that checklist and narrow it down a bit, so that you are only left with the things that you really need, the urgent things that you can fit into your case.
Once this is done, and you are sure that you have only the important things, because you do not want to pay extra air taxes and luggage fees, then you can go on to packing your things next to your suit case. Make sure that you do not pack them straight into your suit case, because you want to check them one more time before you pack them in.
